Full vehicle health checkup when changing engine oil

When changing the engine oil with the vehicle on a lift. Check and record brake fluid, power steering fluid, coolant, battery, alternator, engine room leakage, etc.
Pay attention to the safety of rotating objects such as the alternator belt. When measuring battery & alternator, pay attention to electrical safety. Other vehicle maintenance safety rules must be followed.
In particular, the moisture content of brake fluid should be measured and changed if needed. Brake system deserves special care as it is related to the safety.
When changing the engine oil, check the followings as well. With the car on the lift, it does not take long for diagnosis and inspection and is very important for vehicle maintenance. Your car mechanic will decided what needs more inspection but in general below check lists are recommended during engine oil change.
- Washer fluid check & refill
- Battery voltage measurement before and after startup
- Measurement of tire wear and wear indicator
- Engine oil drain volume & special notes
- Power steering fluid minimum & max levels
- Brake fluid moisture content and contamination level
- Brake pad wear & condition measurement
- Check coolant/antifreeze tank and radiator level
- Voltage measurement before and after starting the alternator
- Engine room oil and water leak check
- Lower body oil and water leak check
- Full system diagnostics report, car health report
- Check spark plug status if necessary
