Does the car dashboard camera have shelf life?

Generally, most electrical products do not have the preset product life cycle. Dashboard camera (black box) product life time could be different depending upon operational environments and maintenance as well. It is advised to check if the black box works as designed once in five years.

In addition, it is also a good idea to reformat the storage device once in a while. Because of the nature of black box, it is advised to use the reliable storage device instead of cheap memory card.
